Friends from Cali!

Courtney, Dan and Patrick (3 weeks older than Kayla) came out for the USC v. UVA game and Kayla and Patrick were instant friends! It was so wonderful seeing the Klink's and so awesome to see Courtney as a mom! Patrick was absolutely adorable...The kids were totally intrigued by the fireplace...I think they were on a mission to figure out a way to get inside.

Elephants, Tigers and Bears...Oh No!

We took Kayla for her first trip to the zoo!
I was amazed by how into it she was...I thought she'd still be a little too young for it. But she absolutely loved the animals...especially the birds, elephants and the flamingos. I think she could have stayed in the bird "cage" all day.

And there were baby flamingos who shared her same birthday!

Dirty kid

It's amazing how one day they're a baby and the next they're climbing backwards up the slide and playing in the dirt like a big kid! Kayla is officially a big kid! She loves getting dirty...whether it be with food, sand, dirt, crayons, whatever she can find. And she loves the great outdoors...she loves running around in the grass and chasing me. And Bryan finally got her to wear her bike helmet! So now we've been taking bike rides around the neighborhood at night...she's growing up so fast!

Beach Week 2008!

We had a wonderful week at the beach with family and friends!

We had perfect weather and fantastic company...wonderful food (especially the 100 lb lasagna courtesy of Julie and Jeff). Rode bikes, played games, relaxed in the sun and water, on the beach, took the boat over to Assoteague island where we actually saw wild horses this time (thanks to Jamey who ran with me for 3 miles in the sand so that we could be near them). It was a great week and just what I needed! Here are some pics...
Little miss Hollywood!

Kayla's mini baby pool was the best invention ever...Feeding Kayla to the sharks...Kayla getting ready to drive the boat with daddy...

But she wasn't quite big enough to get to the steering wheel...

Do you think she loves her daddy? The best part was getting to spend a week straight with our baby girl...she changes so much every day and to get to be a constant part of it was for sure the highlight of my week. We arrived home to find out that our daycare will be closing as of August 31 due to the economy...ahhhh!!! Wish us luck on our quest for new care...
